Seattle Times. The Seattle Times is one of the last family owned and
operated metropolitan newspapers left in America. The death tax is the
single most devastating obstacle to American family business. The newspaper
industry is no exception. Because of the death tax our nation has seen
the number of locally owned, family newspapers steadily shrink. Unless
the death tax is repealed soon there will be no more family and locally
owned newspapers early in the next century. We have been working in conjunction
